Island getaways
Some of our top tips of you were ever looking for a quick getaway from Bali. Some of the sister islands are so close, yet can make you feel miles away from all the bustling chaos of Bali. They are perfect for day trips or even a cheeky little weekend getaway. You will actually be mesmerised by the beauty and landscapes that are surrounding you. These are the following SunDaze Weekend getaway spots to check out.

Nusa Penida
This island is relatively close to Bali, with ferries running from Sanur all day everyday, this island makes for the perfect getaway destination. Only 30 minutes away from Sanur, Nusa Penida is packed with activities guaranteed to keep your days packed and busy. There are so many breath taking sights to see so it would definitely be recommended to rent a scooter and just drive around the island and explore. Top Spots on island include; Diamond Beach, Kelingkeling Beach (better known as T-Rex beach) angels Billabong and so many more. One of the major highlights about Penida though is definitely swimming or even just seeing the giant Mantas swimming down in the bay. It is definitely a magical moment swimming with such creatures. The biggest recommendation for anyone thinking of going to Penida is to; always have cash, rent a scooter or even a tour guide and just go around and explore as much as possible.

Nusa Lembongan
This next tropical island is definitely a natural transition of you are considering a bit of island hoping. There are endless pristine white-sandy beaches and the island is rather quiet which can allow for total relaxation and decompression. The big yellow bridge that is often talked about is actually so beautiful to see and instagram definitely does not exaggerate it. Similarly to Penida, the best way to explore the island would be by scooter, which is pretty standard for Indonesia anyways. There are so many hidden gems that are just waiting to get discovered. Moreover what is beautiful for us and works is that Lembongan has some amazing surf spots which can support surfers of any levels.
Gili Islands
The Gili’s are actually really cool to visit, lots of beautiful white sandy beaches and amazing snorkels with giant turtles that are guaranteed to be jaw droppers for sure. The only downside of the Gili is that it does often feel like quite a mission to get there. We once had to wait for a 2 hour delayed ferry which ended up taking the whole day. However, wouldn’t regret a thing and still believe it was totally remarkable. There are three mains island, Gili Air, Gili T and Gili Meno - each serving a very different type of weekend. Gili T is the island usually associated with parties and wild backpackers living their best lives. Meanwhile, the other two islands are quite mellow which is too, this way there is variety and try to experience as much as possible. Getting to the Gili’s is definitely a mission and a half but definitely well worth the trouble.
